welcome back. the man accused of raping and killing 15-year-old alyssa otremba five years ago is back in court. >> the community and alyssa's family still waiting to see the killer sentenced. our faith jessie spoke to those who are still struggling. >> reporter: 15-year-old alyssa otremba was finishing up her first week at her freshman year at arbor view high school when she was brutally raped and

the community and her family as they wait for justice to be served. >> it was shocking. it was just the violence of it all. >> reporter: this woman and her daughter live steps away from ali saw's memorial. 15-year-old allow saw was raped and murdered back in 2011 after walking home from school near a tunnel. >> i can't imagine. >> reporter: her alleged killer, 23-year-old javier righetti. back in court after pleading february. that plea was tossed out one month later allowing doctors on both sides to examine his mental competency. >> the coroner testified it was over 80 stab wounds. he lit her on fire. >> reporter: prosecutors asked the court to throw out that guilty plea because the plea did not include charges that it was a predetermined and deliberate crime. >> he took a huge part of our life away.

for the last five years. >> that choice that he made that day and to take alyssa's life will change -- it altered the rest of my life, my family's life and it's just -- it's been a difficult journey. >> reporter: a difficult journey that still haunts the community five years later. >> to have someone taken from you so violently and needlessly and for what reason. >> reporter: righetti heads back to court next week. the district attorney is seeking the death penalty. i'm faith news 3. not guilty verdicts for the bundy brothers. they were found not guilty on charges of conspiracy to prevent federal workers from doing their job and north -- and not guilty on firearms charges. the brothers have been in jame since their january arrest.

overheated motor passengers did everything they could to get off the train. boston's mass transit authority said the train has been removed for service. five people were treated for smoke inhalation. strong aftershocks continue to rattle central italy following two powerful earthquakes last night. more of the damage is coming to light. you can see the devastation here. the smaller tremors registered mag nitted 4. we're glad to tell you no serious injuries have been reported. but thousands of people have been forced from their homes. power is out in many areas. the quakes hit not far from the big one in august that killed almost 300 people. the man caught on camera taking a pic ax and sledgehammer to donald trump's star on the walk of fame was arrested.

producer and that's our weekend. breezy saturday and windy on sunday. right now, temperatures around the region, starting to look a little more like october up there in northern nevada. high temperatures if you are traveling on your friday, reno, 60. phoenix, 95 degrees. for southern nevada, overnight tonight, 60 in indian springs. 63 in sandy valley. pahrump in the 50s. high temperatures tomorrow, mid-50s on the mountain. 86 at the lake. 75 in pahrump and death for the las vegas valley, 6 degrees with the clouds overnight. then tomorrow, the clouds will probably turn into a few drops with an emphasis on a few. the rain is not gonna be nearly as significant as it was on monday. breezes pick up in the afternoon. we'll have a whole new batch of breezes on saturday as the high temperature gets back in the low 80s. we will get more sunshine. by sunday, winds they will be stronger of gusts over 30 miles an hour.
